Last year I did a Platinum Challenge and passed, and have been Platinum with Marriott for over six months.

I only completed 37 nights with them, and I'd need 75 to maintain Platinum for another year.

However, when I log into my account it still says Platinum, and still shows my 37 nights earned 'this year'. Have they simply not reset for 2013? Or do they not run January to January? I wouldn't mind doing enough nights to maintain Gold, but I won't bother if they won't count. Frankly I prefer the IHG reward program Priority Club; easier to keep and maintain status, and better rewards.

For reference I used to do about 146 nights in hotels per year, but after a company relocation I suspect it will be closer to 90-100 this year.

I think the nights will reset this month, but anything that takes place this month should count towards this year.

    Hope that makes sense. :)

I believe the status will last until the end of February 2013 or end of February 2014 depending on your individual situation ... also, some of us received the following offer: Maintain your Platinum status with fewer nights

When does the "Total Nights Earned this Year" counter typically reset? Like ZCT, I noticed my year-to-date count is still showing last year's info.

Also, when do the 15 credit card nights post? Is it on the card anniversary date?

Thanks PointsCashMiles, I should have looked at Chase. I appreciate you posting the info. I misremembered, and thought it was a night for every 1500. This is good info.

Any status you have runs through Feb. The Marriott site will reset sometime this month to begin to show your YTD totals for 2013. At least it's always been reset in January as far as I remember, which isn't very far these days!

even if you don't do a platinum status challenge for this year, you will most likely be gold as Marriott is usually good about only one level downgrade per year.

My Marriott YTD totals shown on the Marriott website reset this morning. Rollover nights not yet applied.

Same here. Waiting for another 15 to kick in after the anniversary. I should have booked Renaissance at LAS and Marriott at SFO instead of IHG properties this year :( I'm PCR PL through the end of 2014 regardless of stays. Booking MR instead of IHG could've helped me to get MR G by the end of this year. Oh, well.

In addition to your Marriott-affiliated CC nights, another way to add an instant elite night (just one) to your account is to call Marriott Rewards and apply your birth date (month & day) to your account.
