The scenario is I fly solo or with my partner. I am the one most interested in obtaining miles/status. So....when I go to book for BOTH of us is there any danger in booking myself at a higher fare class to obtain the mileage upgrade? Any potential issues here?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Unless some airlines have more flexibility, booking yourself in a different fare class than your partner would probably result in having to book the two tickets separately, thus ending in separate PNRs. This could/would remove some of the benefits for your partner (companion upgrades, free checked luggage, ...)

    Cheers,
