I am trying to find a room or two or three in Denver at an SPG this Wednesday night, for one night- in 7/13 and out 7/14...crazy but it's like all SPG properties booked up? Did see some availability at Downtown Sheraton...but every other one of the bunch is locked out! what gives?

Not sure when it officialy starts, but the Microsoft MGX Conference is in Denver starting this week. I know my company has rooms booked at several properties as we travel a ton of folks for this event.

We (meaning Denver) seem to have a conference or 2 (or 3) going on every week through the summer. Apparently the DNC put a lot of spring in the Denver Conference step or something. Incidentally the Sheraton isn't my top choice, but it isn't terrible. I've gone to a couple conferences there and spoke with people that stayed there (Brett over at Cranky Flier for one). The place is older and not as modern as the Westin, but it isn't a bad place to stay.

I found the lounge to be pretty good when I stayed in the Sheraton for a big conference in January.

Yeah! I was up there briefly, surprisingly good. Spacious, cool views of the gold domed state Capitol building, and a decent selection of goodies to eat and drink. Nice. Room is pretty typical of a Sheraton I think, but clean and concise. No probs.
