With PC Platinum status you get a one level upgrade (depending on availability) in ICG hotels, while with Ambassador status you get a one level upgrade (guaranteed) and with Royal Ambassador status a two level upgrade (guaranteed) in ICs

It's sometimes difficult to explain the kind of upgrade you get, but with MilePoint posting pix makes it easy! Hopefully this will make it easier to let everyone know what kind of room to expect.

Upon check in I was told they upgrade me to a “very nice” executive suite, however the room wasn’t quite ready. They offered a king room till mine was ready, I asked how long it would take, they said not more than 30 minutes, I offered to just wait, they then suggest a couple free drinks at the bar why we waited. I agreed. We waited about an hour and no word, I went back to the desk to inquire if the room I was waiting on was ready (the manger was at the desk) I explained about the wait and he immediately apologized and said he had another suite we could get into right now. And we were checked in to a superior suite (room 747). The room was very large, nice entry hall, two baths, dining area, large living room, large separate bedroom. Pictures below.

That's a nice suite. I might just have to pick the IC next time we're there for a MR

 

KIXman, i think your suggested format is very good, what about including the $ values being attributed, what you paid, what was the rack rate of the room/suite you received/ were upgraded to at the time of booking.

Nah, I'm not expecting that from HIX HKG
I think I get nice rooms from HI MNL because I'm a regular there.
CP HKG unfortunately didn't have reward nights available, also I'm trying to "crack the case"
