Had this idea when I was shaving this morning. Many people love to be on the road as much as possible, but what one item do you miss when you travel?

Missing loved ones or your own bed is a given, so think about something that is not typical. I said that I had this idea while shaving because my item would be my shaving mug and brush. It makes for a much closer shave, but it stays at home when I am traveling.

    What is your item?

Pets for sure - see my avatar - aside from that - looking out of the sunroom into my forest of a back yard - peaceful - serene. Pretty much all else travels with me since I live in hotels most of the time :D

I miss my closet and having the option to choose from an entire closet full of clothes to pick from in the morning. Okay that was a girlie answer. What I really miss is my DVR so when I have downtime I can watch my favorite shows whenever I want, and without commercials :)

Fixable with a Slingbox, I think. No personal experience as I don't miss my TV.

I feel the same way. I like to travel because I get to read more.

I find it amazing how many times I want to rewind live TV, only to find that I don't have that ability. What is this, the 20th century or something?

For me, it's a kitchen sometimes. I love to try food in other places. But cooking is also a way to relax for me, and on long trips I sometimes crave a bit of home cooking.

I miss my Sonicare toothbrush but most of all I miss my friends. I get a lot of "come on, when are we going to get together, you're always traveling somewhere".

+1 for the pets. But I also miss my desktop computer. No practical way to totally sync all the info there with a laptop. For one, there's a practical limit to storage capacity on portables. And remote access to the desktop isn't a practical solution for me since typically the connections on both sides are way too slow to be of much use.

We pack the Sonicare. For me it's pets -- except when I'm at sea, when it becomes free Internet.

+1 on the pets. I miss my own bed as I know I get better sleep there. I don't have to hear ppl walking the floor next door at 3:00 AM.
