I'm sure mentioning the even frequent flyer forum, FT, isn't banned. Or at least I hope not.

Are you permanently here from FT now, or are you dipping into both? Personally, I find it quite refreshing over here.

For me, my love for FT has gone. There are too many people all trying to outsmart one another. You cannot post something over there without expecting someone to come at you with a jibe. Plus many forums, especially the BA one where I'm from, is so full of misinformation. The majority of newer people over there appear to be 'wannabes'; they talk about the high-life, always First class, the best hotels etc... and most of all they give out so much incorrect advice. They even have the nerve to (wrongly) correct regulars who post the right information.

Gosh that felt better. MilePoint Therapy. :)

I drop in every once in a while and must admit I shake my head. Every once in a while something of interest or use is posted there ... but for me I was weaning myself off anyway and I am glad to have MP to come home to :)

Where can I get some MPT? ;)

I still am there on the forums I have been most active on, but my heart is here now.

I think there is room in the world for both. There's a lot of information in both places and elsewhere on the Internet and I enjoy being a consumer of all of it. People are going to be jerks everywhere, and especially on the Internet where there are no meaningful personal repercussions for behavior, so it's up to you as an individual to make an effort to not be a douche. :)

I am on both forums but I primarily post here. If I want a review of a property or something I will search for it on FT. I occasionally glance at the mileage run deals, Hyatt, and SPG forums over at FT but that's about it. Seems less of a community over there now days than 2-3 years ago.

I have been posting on both, but mostly on Milepoint as of late. When I first signed up MP I thought I would give it a go to see where it took me and with nothing against FT. Not sure what has happened but in the last couple of days where a couple of FT threads have had me shaking my head (and some utter sadness at some people's attitudes in times of tragedy). By far, the good people outweigh the bad on FT, but I wonder if some threads and forum would be best left 'ignored'!

I mostly lurked on FT, but I did post a little. I did find when I asked a question, people to be friendly. Though, it is a lot of data to sift through and I agree with canucklehead that lately I have been shaking my head at some of the posts over there. That being said, I read both, but I am much more comfortable posting on MP. [IMG]

Awesome...there's our quote of the day (year?)!

Nothing necessarily "wrong" with FT as a whole. I still definitely frequent both...plus a few key blogs, for FF and travel info - on a daily basis (or as Mrs PanAm says "too &%^% much")! Having been around a lot longer obviously, FT still has a lot more content in many areas, especially a lot of the detailed airline info. I surely enjoy the atmosphere here more than some (though by no means all) of the FT forums/threads. That's what will differentiate this community from other FF forums, in my opinion.

The challenge will be as the membership here grows and grows. At a certain point, with any popular forum, there can be so many people that the odds increase that a few more bad apples show up and change the tone.

I visit and post on both. I think it will take some time for MP to catch up to FT though. There is so much good information there. No reason both can't co-exist.

I post on both, but at least MP has broken me of my unfortunate addiction to Omni/PR.

MP is somewhat like the bright new undergrad library at a great university, versus FT as the historic and grandiose main reference library. The latter may have the greater amount of volumes and historical resources, however, the undergrad facility can be a lot more accessible, easier to use and has more friendly, less-obtuse librarians who are more interested in helping you rather than putting you down via condescension and attitude.

  22. I was just thinking today that I hadn't been to FT in at least a week or two. Nice to see a lot of familiar names here along with some new ones. Really enjoying this new site...and like the look & feel of the BB system here.

I read and post on both. I am not a prolific poster - only 2150 posts on FT in a 11 year time frame, but I do read quite a bit. I think there is room for both sites.
