I'm getting tired of TSA abusive behavior in, of all places, Burlington VT. Rather than recite a litany of complaints and just waste time, I am curious as to what is the best way to notify someone in authority that some retraining is necessary.

Isn't there some Federal official responsible for security at every airport? I should be able to get that person's name and address, and send a letter. Sometimes you get a little better response when you put it in writing and drop it in the US mail.

I prefer the blanket approach: TSA's complaint forms plus written & verbal complaints to congressman.

Truth be told, though, you'd find that it is just as effective to send an email to /dev/null

I used the form, thanks for the link. I'm not sure what it is about BTV, but they seem to truly hate passengers.

I would suggest contacting the Federal Security Director (local TSA boss) at the airport. I would copy airport management, airline management and your congresscritters.

I see the smiley face you put in there, so I understand the context of your message.

It's not just who you send it to, it's what you say. If you go off on some nutjob approach in a letter, it won't matter who you send it to, it will go into the recycle bin unanswered.

Concise one-page letters that express true concern and some frustration get genuine, on-point responses. And I'm speaking from experience.

I flew through there once 5 or 6 years ago and found the TSA went out of their way to be abusive. Judging from your post, that is institutional and not just a one time experience that I encountered.

A very simple, clear unemotional letter to congresspeople and senators pointing out how they are damaging the Vermont economy without providing any security benefits could help slowly build the case against them.

Don't know why, but I have found that the amount of abuse I get is inversely correlated to the size of the airport. Maybe they just have nothing better to do?

This week I had a no-secondary no-hand-swipe trip through BTV. I almost didn't know how to act.

We went through BTV on a MR in 2007. I was taken aback when the exit corridor took us outside security(in fact outside the building), necessitating being screened before our connecting flight

. glad to hear they lightened up Flag_November Does make me curious as to the turnaround:confused:

I don't know - maybe they were just beat down by the endless winter.
