Simple thread for those of us considering a run at Ambassador/Royal Ambassador. I'd like to stay at an IC from time to time, but they often have a price point that generally screams "redeem!!!" especially during the week.

    I'll start things off:

IC Rosemont - $108 advance puchase, $119 regular, weekend
IC Milwaukee - $136, AAA, weekend
IC Kansas City - $169 king only, advance purchase, weekend

You can find pretty cheap rooms at Montelucia Scottsdale in the summer - $129 or less.

I've saw the IC Roesmont for $87 as a last minute weekend rate last January

  5. I paid $105CDN per for two w/e nights at the IC Toronto center in December and $125 for 2 nights at the IC Montreal in mid January.

A couple weeks ago I had an $87 rate at the IC Rosemont. Suite upgrade, free internet, comped breakfast and cocktails.

Last summer the IC Montelucia $74/night ($99/night minus $25 daily folio credit). Upgraded to large villa-ish suite at the back of the property.

Being in Australia, they aren't among the cheapest hotels here. But in the region, probably the IC Kuala Lumpur is possibly the cheapest - stayed for just over 300MYR a few weeks back.

I know the IC Rosemont was sub $100 many times last year.

  9. Terry, was that the advance purchase rate were you paying at Toronto? I stayed there in December and the lowest best available was $159

The 2 IC properties in San Francisco often have Travelzoo promo rates in the $119 or $129/nt range, sometimes with a food or spa credit thrown in.

The only recent change is that now they seem to usually require prepayment, but that wasn't always the case.

Sadly, despite having booked several, plans changed & I never was able to take advantage of those great rates.

  13. I generally don't use advance purchase rates but may have in this instance.....I was also there 24th to 26th of December.

that being said I notice this hotel drops their rates dramatically when there are no events going on at the convention center or the ballpark. That's when I take advantage and move the 35 KMS or so from the burbs into town for a w/e

  14. I was there from 27th Dec for six nights, it did run over new years, I'm not complaining I was very happy with the rate and upgrade, I just thought you as a local may have a better deal or way to get a better deal.

The overall key to Toronto Centre is finding a good empty weekend where even if there is an event at the convention centre, that the guests are not likely to be staying at the IC. I've seen this multiple times, and gotten a rate as low as $124 CDN plus taxes

IC Warsaw, random date in the summer (6 August), 37.50 EUR per night on the 2-4-1 rate which will normally still get you points and qualifying nights credit.

    Beat that!

I booked IC Rosement for about $140 including parking and everything, when rooms were about $110 or so.
Also, I've seen IC San Francisco for about $120 or so before.
I also booked IC Warsaw for about 60euro

I have stayed at the Intercontinental Tampa and West Miami/Doral location for less than $100US (on qualifing rates).
A bit off topic......I have seen the Intercontinental Tampa - Presidential Suite for less than $130 on the Friends and Family rate in January......of course it is non-qualifing.

Both Cleveland Clinic ICs regularly come up in the $65 to $90 a night range many weekends, Best Rate. Got to be the cheapest IC in the world. Good locations if you're in Cleveland for medical reasons, or cultural ones. Otherwise the HIX in closer to the downtown action, the CP the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame. Both are also in this price range on weekends. HIX is a converted bank building, a bit rough at the edges but some rooms are quaint.
