I have seen people make reference to a "grand slam" and "hits"...what is that about?
I believe it was the US Airways promo:
The Grand Slam is a promotion that has been run by US Airways for the last few years. As part of the Grand Slam, you get "hits" for participating in certain activities (e.g. shopping at certain retailers, buying club memberships, staying at certain hotel chains and crediting your stays to miles etc) and based on the number of hits you accrue, you are eligible to get bonus miles. The maximum number of bonus miles is usually 100,000 (last year, it was 110K for elite members). The Dividend miles forum has a dedicated thread/wiki that is a great resource. US Airways runs this promotion usually in Aug/Sep .

Something very delicious at Denny's . Mommy Points blog does a great job of getting you your hits and will explain everything when the promotion is back in full swing.
As well, terms like Grand Slam are part of Milepoint's unique dynamic glossary. If you highlight the term Grand Slam, you'll see an explanation pop up in the upper right hand corner of this page. It is similar to explanations already offered but just a reminder of the many tools members can use here on Milepoint.
And here I thought it was breakfast at Denny's!
LOL I was going to reply with the same thing but you beat me to it.
Whoa! That is ridiculously cool!
Yea, it's even got FUBAR... (because we know that some of the upgrade reservations go there all the time!)
is highlight the same as select text? if so the feature doesn't seem to work on my android tablet
Which is part of the awesomeness of Milepoint!
There are are still a contingent of really old fogies like myself who still think it has something to do with hitting a home run with the bases full.
But I am ready with a new definition - having 100K or more miles in four different programs.
Now that I have attained this goal, I will give myself a pat on the back as having hit a grand slam.
First and foremost, in baseball, when there is a runner on first, second, and third, and the batter hits a homerun that is a grand slam.
Second, what everyone else said.
But "Who's on first?"
Still rofl funny after all these decades........
That is awesome!
Awesome! Is there a way to suggest glossary terms? There are a few that I can't think of off the top of my head that don't show up and seem pretty common on MP yet still jargony for some people.
The glossary appears to only work in regular browsers, not mobile devices. In the browser, the definition will pop up when a term is highlighted.
Awesome! Learnt something new. (highlighting).
totally aware of this and am working on it. Thanks.
Cool! Good to know. Thanks for the update.
