Tried to book low level award to Buenos Aires in Oct. Not one seat from DFW, MIA or JFK from late Aug to early Dec. Checking the seat map when trying to buy a seat, only a few seats reserved. So how can 5 daily flights be blocked. Of course, no one at American will respond.

Logic would say that he would be able to use AA miles on LAN (if he wanted go that route) .. no??

I did a quick check on aa.com and I see a ton of low level coach awards .. so I am forced to presume you must be looking for C awards???:)

I see 20K awards outbound to EZE on 9/2 and 9/3. They're available, you just have to look and be flexible. Generally speaking award space hasn't been great in the recent past though. Much more digging and flexibility required then in years past sadly.
