Extensive review with tons of photos in my recent trip report
    http://milepoint.com/forums/threads...-a-suite-villa-and-incredible-food-porn.4234/

Hotel is ~ 45 minutes from HKT airport. Hotel is built into side of a cliff overlooking bay, lots of glass and wonderful views throughout. If you're in many of the 'regular' rooms you're going to be fairly high up the hill, lots of walking, but I was upgraded to a Sala Pool Villa which isn't up an incline from the lobby and close to the center of the resort. Plenty of golf carts whizzing around at all times picking up guests, delivering food, etc.

The views certainly have their moments here!

Beach isn't especially pretty at low tide, though middle of the day the muddy sand is covered in water and much improved.

The Sala Pool Villa was fabulous, large living room separate from bedroom, large bathroom with separate tub and shower. Shower had glass window looking out over the water.

The pool and deck was large enough to lounge out on, great views, and perfect for taking a quick dip to cool off.

    Downsides:

    * Service was ok at best, some requests/calls went unresponded to. Drinks in the lobby bar were left uncleaned up after for several hours such that walking to breakfast there might be empty glasses/wine bottles out from the night before. Service in the main breakfast restaurant was completely inattentive, lots of work to get coffee refilled.

    * Room service menu had limtied Thai options

    * Pest control could be improved, in an environment like this there'll be bugs but greater attention needs to be paid to the ant colony that had been burrowed beneath the villa through a hole in the base of the building.

    * Spa experience was ok at best and pricey for the area. No waiting room for before/after, welcome and departure drinks are served in the spa bungalow and when you're done you just go back to a desk to sign a bill slip and that's it..

    * Far from anything, 15 mintues to Phuket town and much farther from the center of the city.

Not sure I'd go back unless guaranteed to have the same room, was happiest on our own on our deck and when not interacting with the rest of the property. But the views were great and my room was fantastic.

Lucky seems to echo a lot of Gleff's complaints. Too bad, because it seems like a few fixes here and there would really improve the experience overall. Phuket is on the list for next year, so I have to find a place to stay!

Looking to return to Thailand next year (I used to go every other year, but have not in the last 4 yrs). Kalboz, would you say the LM Khao Lak would be the nicer choice in the Phuket area?

Just got back from this property...showing a little wear, but hard to argue at 7000 pts/night with the 5th night free. Was given a pool access suite, brekkie, a nice polo shirt welcome gift and a managers cocktail reception. Beach sux, and it is isolated (glad we had a car). Friendly staff but some long waits for ice and r/s. But I definitely would go back.
