    Ohio-based fast food chain Wendy’s is launching a mobile payment system that allows customers to pay for food with their smartphones. The new system has been in testing for the last year at select locations, and Wendy’s says it’s now ready to start accepting payments at all of its 5,800 locations nationwide.

    The move comes as fast-food chains seek to attract younger customers who are notoriously attached to their smartphones. Wendy’s competitor Burger King recently made an announcement about its own mobile payment system that will launch in April, while McDonald’s has acknowledged the importance of mobile payments and is still in the testing phase with its offering.

    When they have an app that guarantees my order is correct, I'll gladly use a mobile payment method!

    Interesting, as it seems that every day we draw closer to a cash-less economy. Now, if only Wendy's would offer FF miles for those burgers and fries! ;)
