    || Welsh government set to buy Cardiff airport ||

We like CWL, having been recently to Cardiff, the one thing we would change is a more frequent bus / Airlink service to the City itself. :)

This was interesting to me give that yesterday I think I saw a headline saying the Royal Mail system was to be privatized. It’s not normal for a privatized property to be returned to the government... The airport was privatized in 1995.

From the looks of it maybe the Spanish owners were unable/unwilling to invest in the future of the airport like the municipality wanted? Is that the result of the financial crisis or something else?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardiff_Airport has some more information under "Criticism by First Minister / Airport "Task Force" but that doesn’t clearly give the issues..

Cardiff has a key role in future of UK airports
