I guess this is a question of, if you were in my shoes what would you do?

I have a wedding to attend later in June, and I looked online for a hotel in the Area. I found a Sheraton at the time advertising a Suite room under C&P (2800 SPG + $45.00) and thought oh why not just book it so I won't play the SPG PLT upgrade lottery. I did it & didn't really look at my email confirmation till later (when the C&P increases happened and I checked all my reservations)

Funny thing is that my email reservations states that I am under a C&P reservation, but its 0 SPG + $145.00 per night. However in the email it does state that I used 5600 SPG for the reservation & 5600 SPG did get deducted ...

Concerned I chatted SPG and they at first said that It was C&P redemption (they called hotel to confirm) and they state that when I check in I will be only charged the "booking rate advertised", but failed to give me a firm number as this was right after the increase in C&P rates and they said that their system was still unstable. However she did state that they noted in my profile that I did book under 2800/$45 and that rate will be honored at check-in.

However here comes my dilemma ... since my email states $145.00 & 2800 SPG a night (one could decipher the amount by 5600/2) what is going to happen when I go to check in? Will it be $45 or $145 ? I know SPG noted that amount in my profile ... but what if it will be $145.00 a night? Would it be better for me to just cancel and rebook under the current C&P rates (or maybe my friend's room block rate) and play the PLT upgd lottery (suite upgrade isnt that big of a concern to me), but at 2800/$45 for a reserved suite ... that's hard to pass up.

There's another thread on this around here... hold on and I'll link back to it. You'll be charged the correct rate, but the website doesn't show it because of the updates.

    But what will constitute a correct rate? Even the email confirmation showed $145.00;
When the C&P rates went up, reservations on SPG.com show the higher rate, but I could always show them my intial email confirmation and it would be fine... Now I don't really know what to do.

That exact question is answered by an SPG Champion account in the exact post I linked to. I can't answer that question any better. Click the link, read the answer.

Thanks Mike I read it but I dont think its the same exact question.

It says "shown incorrectly online" & " the original rate is still shown on internal reservation systems "

Mine doesnt show correctly online, but nor did it show up correctly in the email reservation when I booked it. Thus I am not sure what the original rate on the internal system is.

Given that your email is simply a web-generated email, I'd expect it to be wrong too. I'm not sure why you're ignoring the rest of what he says, though:
And you even said that SPG chat agents told you:
If you don't believe that, why not call? It's a toll-free call, so it'll only cost you your time - less than what this thread is taking.

The OP doesn't seem to have booked a standard room. Nor is the OP's rate a standard C&P rate, either for the old or new system. It looks either like a special promo or some sort of mistake rate.

its for a suite; but before suites were bookable under C&P. I saw a suite for 2800 +$45 so I said why not.

Well I did chat w/SPG earlier, but they couldn't tell me what the cash rate was either. Just kept saying that they will honor the rate it was reserved under.

Was the chat being saved? Do you have details of the associate whom you have spoken to?

It would help if all information on the reservation is available before I comment further.

So what I booked was not a standard room, but an upgraded room under C&P rates, thus the 2800/$145.00 a night. There was a glitch that allowed me to reserve an upgraded room before the actual date that C&P rates went up and you were allowed to book those rooms.
