I got an offer in the mail to join the Admirals Club at a discount.

In the envelope was a one-day pass. Not bad!

Better yet, my kids also got the same letters, with passes.

So don't just throw it in the trash!

Nice...are they transferable? As a OW sapphire, I'd happily give it to someone since I'm almost always on an international itinerary and get lounge access.

    :)

Of course, my two minor children each got one . . . but I'm guessing they mean no 'accompanying' minor children.

It was similar, but didn't have a name printed on it. Free AC passes, 17.5K EQM and RDM, lots of swag and memories. Yeah, it was a good time. :)

got mine today on snail mail, surprised to get one, I almost purchase a monthly pass last week, luckily I didnt, I will use it this weekend in ORD, what should I expect for ORD lounge, I was once in LA, didnt quite like it, I only got water, I wasnt sure if I can get alcohol because the bartender was pricing the drink when I asked, I guess he is assuming I'm a regular and I didnt want to ask too many question of what I can get for free, so for the regular AC, what can I get from the lounge?

There should be a list posted in the lounge or on the bar that details which brands are free. The choices can change depending on which club you're in, and even then they can shift, hence the posted lists.

If you're in the ORD H/K lounge, Sapporo beer is free as a nod to JL sharing the lounge.

Thanks for the heads up. :)

    Still waiting for mine. :(

Hopefully our passes are just delayed because of having to cross the pacific ocean. ;)

Sapporo isn't the only free beer option, but it seems to be a favorite with folks at ORD H/K. :)

Well, I have some mileage runs planned next weekend, so I'll definitely be using it!

Austin to SFO, then SFO-ORD twice. So, likely use one in a Dallas and 1 of the ORD layovers. Which reminds me, I'm coming through town! I'll start a conversation.

Tell the bartender up front that you're looking for one of the complimentary options. I do this every time I order drinks in a lounge, and nobody has ever reacted negatively to the request. I regularly use three different airlines' lounges and I can never keep these things straight.

Good call. Nothing wrong with being direct about the potential charges.

I wonder if members through the World Elite card will get this, like the membership discount email a few months back.

I assume you're talking about the Citibank AA Mastercard? Since World Elite cardmembers get AC access, why would they get one-day passes?

No, I'm being a wisea$$. I'm referring to the email offer for a discounted AC membership that those of us with the World Elite card received. They then followed up with an apology to these "valued members," which was the first time I actually felt like a full-blown, acknowledged member through the card.

The email was discussed starting in post #141 of this thread.
