Last night I booked an award flight for this summer for myself, mrsdiver90 and our daughter, minidiver90. Found the flights, picked out the seats, redeemed the miles and completed the booking. When I selected the seats (FC) I did as I always do, and put mrsdiver90 and minidiver90 together in A+B and myself across the aisle in C. When the reservation came back it had me in A, mrsdiver90 in B and minidiver90 in C. I spent 30 minutes trying to straighten it out via the website to no avail but finally got the two of them over to the left side of the plane but not in the right seats, so I just left it. I didn't want to take the chance of someone grabbing the seats by clearing them or hop scotching around the cabin.

Yes I know I could have just called but I was on a "mission" so to speak. Have you seen this before or am I simply nutz..... or are those questions mutually exclusive?

Question: Why did you go through all that trouble when you could simply have switched seats when you boarded?

    D.) All of the above.
The Delta site is quite ill.
This exact same thing has happened to me while trying to group my family of 5.
This is not a determining factor in you being nutz.

I have found that some of the snobs in F are sometimes unwilling to trade their preferred seat to accomodate anyone.

But between the three of you, you had A, B, and C reserved. Unless you, mrsdiver90, or minidiver90 are one of those snobs, there should have been no problem.

A bit of "just because", mild OCD and a desire to not have to hear the FA's say, "Well clearly you are not .....".

I misread. In my mind I was thinking rows 1,2,3 not seats A,B,C.

Delta.com is Delta's worst enemy. It costs them more business than any of the special fares or promotions that their competitors run.

  9. I became irate enough this week after trying to book three weeks of tickets that I finally called customer relations and unloaded on them. They offered the standard miles for my effort but I refused ( I hate that they are handing out miles like candy) and told that was not the point of the call and that it was time to either fix their issues or get some one to head up IT that knows what they are doing. And no I'm not going to make this a rant about Dr. Theresa Wise.....[IMG]

Its very important that they keep hearing how much revenue this is costing them. And using miles for award tix does count as revenue in the accounting system.

Yes, Delta.com is quite ill. The Doctors at ATL Hospital have been told by friends, family and elites There have been many tests taken at the hospital. Also specialists have been bought in to nick pick every area of Delta.com body.

The Docs, have notice Delta.com is addicted to the new pills called 'Fees'. Over few years, the Fees drug has increase from 25mg to 150mg. Delta.com has even flown to see other Doctors in other countries. To try different drugs, that are not approved by the FDA and FAA.

There is a feeling from a small group people, there will be an intervention. It is a question how to bring Delta.com to the private meeting for an intervention and allow Delta.com to enter a rehab program.

See the story on A&E. [IMG]

Thats why I switched to a different airline. Delta.com (esp the award calender function) just puts me in a bad mood.

I hope you dropped them a letter (paper is better than e-mail). They need to get continual feedback that the website, and especially the award calendar, are costing them business.

I've have issues with selecting seats and then going back days or weeks later to find that the selected seats were now either not selected and had to be reselected or were taken by another party. Not fun when I select two seats together and on the flight Mrs. Italy and I are sitting in opposite corners of the cabin. :(

Maybe I'm just used to the site, but I check back regularly to make sure that 1) my seats are still there and 2) there hasn't been a change of equipment (they tend to mess up seats when they do that)

I agree with you. The whole "...safe than sorry" platitude always applies at delta.com.

  19. A new one for me today... trying to book a round trip, the calendar would only let me put in either the leave date or the return date, but not both!! Had to check to see if I had selected one way! As soon as I entered a return, it removed the date from the departure, and as soon as I re entered the departure, it removed the date in the return. I tried to submit anyway, and got an error that I needed to select the return date! Came back 30 min later and all was well.
