I had taken a bump about a year ago and received a $200 voucher. It is expiring next month. I was told that I have to mail it in to the AA ticket desk to apply it or could buy a walk up ticket and use it at the airport. Is this true? Also, if I can't use the ticket, can I give it away? TYIA!

I don't know but if you end up having to give it away, send it to me! :D

Annoying, but true. You have to submit the voucher in person at a ticket counter in the airport or a ticketing location.
    International locations: http://www.aa.com/i18n/aboutUs/whereWeFly/internationalTickets/main.jsp
    Domestic locations: http://www.aa.com/i18n/travelInformation/tickets/main.jsp

Less than 1% of the population of the world lives within easy distance of these locations I'd guess. If you are lucky enough to be close to one, redeem it there. Otherwise, call in, pay your fee if you are not EXP and mail the voucher to the location they tell you.

Fortunately I work a few blocks away from the NY location. Okay...i guess it isn't horrible, but still means I need to book a trip asap.
