Vision and Allegiant are both pulling out of SAV. Neither made a lot of sense, IMO.

Vision has announced that they'll begin serving FPO in November. Base fares starting at $99 RT (from FLL) before taxes and fees. (Don't forget international taxes.) Doesn't seem like the best time of year to start service, but it's still good for snowbirds.

The flights will originate from Ft Lauderdale, FL, Louisville, KY, Richmond, VA, Raleigh/Durham, NC and Baltimore/Washington airports. Additionally, direct flights (1-stop, no change of plane) will be available from Destin/Ft Walton Beach. Flights will begin the week of November 14, 2011.

What seems strange about this press release is that it doesn't really stress the fact that they don't already serve RIC, RDU and BWI -- none of which are currently shown on their route map. At the very end of the announcement:

Vision Airlines will add Richmond, Raleigh/Durham and Baltimore/Washington when service to Grand Bahama Island begins in the fall.

This $29 fare is only for flights departing from MYR on the first three days of Vision service at MYR.
