Virgin Atlantic revamps website

    Airline Virgin Atlantic this week unveiled its new website, which features a new design and enhanced functionality, and takes inspiration from retail, banking and travel sector websites.

    Moving away from the traditional aviation functional approach to web design, the new website incorporates more visuals and aims to increase customer engagement by presenting a user-centric design. The entire site is now only a click away from any page, while behind the scenes the Adobe CQ5 content management system is now being used to manage the site.

    “Visiting an airline website shouldn’t just be about booking a ticket, checking in online or picking a seat,” says Allison Wightman, Head of E-Business at Virgin Atlantic. “It’s the start of a holiday and when you’re travelling with Virgin Atlantic, it’s as much about the journey as the holiday itself.
