[Oops... Virgin ATLANTIC MasterCard. Not sure how to edit the post title...]

Looks like Virgin Atlantic is changing partners. Just got a notice in the mail that my Virgin Atlantic Amex Black is going to be replaced with a Virgin Atlantic World Elite MasterCard in November. Any reason to cancel early to avoid getting this as far as future churning is concerned? Seems like if I cancel before the change I wouldn't have been a previous owner of one of the new cards and could potentially more quickly qualify for the (40,000 mi?) bonus offer on the new cards.

I applied for this card in March so cancelling say in October would be 7 months. A bit short.

it's over 6 months, I think you'll be okay if the rest of your history shows longer holdings. Might want to edit your subject line - it says Virgin Atlantic turned into Virgin America. That would be even weirder.
