    One problem is determining what or who is a concierge. The term is usually quite accurate in Europe and elsewhere. But some place I have seen the term concierge bandied about with a bellhop or desk clerk.

    A second problem is the tipping. Many are intimidated, especially in a fancy 5-star place, where there are no published/known guidelines for tipping. ("One tips what one believes the service is worth.") Mis-tip and you are scorned for the remainder of your stay (personal experience).
