If you have a layover in YYZ, a good place for lunch or dinner is Via Allegro Ristorante. As you've already surmised from the name, the restaurant serves Italian fare and is conveniently located about 12km from the airport.

The restaurant features an incredibly extensive wine list to go with the food choice. Food quality is pretty good and I've never walked away feeling disappointed. Prices for entrees generally range around $25 - $35 but some choices go up to almost $50. Service is usually efficient and it's typically easy to get a table as the restaurant is fairly large. A nice touch is the small stool at each table which ladies can use to place their handbags on.

Worth going to if you're in the neighbourhood!

Cool! I just saw they had added a LocalPoint for YYZ ... will have to check this more often.
