https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/oxrvb-ventura-beach-marriott/ We stayed one night in December, having been a few times in years past. We like this hotel, the best location for a Marriott in the Ventura area - off the freeway, near the beach and just minutes from downtown. A Courtyard opened in nearby Oxnard not long ago, with rates that are sometimes lower, but we like to be right in Ventura. There are 4 floors and the property is spread out over a large area. Windows in rooms on the north side are angled for a partial sea view, on the higher floors. The area is relatively quiet, given that it is next to a freeway, in an area with a few other hotels and fast food places. The lobby is quite large and comfortable, with a water feature. The Pacifico Restaurant is open for B/L/D. During our stay, the Club Lounge was closed - don't recall if it was a seasonal closure or for renovations, but as PLT Elite we were given breakfast coupons for the restaurant, with a full breakfast menu. In the past, we have used the Club Lounge for evening snacks and for breakfast. It is very comfortable, with a larger room and a smaller alcove with sofa/chair seating. The hotel was quiet during our visit, and generally has not been busy each time we have stayed. Desk staff was friendly and helpful - no waits. Parking/valet staff also welcoming. There is a large open parking lot available, wrapping around the building -- room key access both in and out, so take your key card to exit the lot although sometimes the bar was up. Parking is $10 daily. The lot wraps around the north side of the building where there is another key-coded entry door to the hotel; it's very convenient to park there and walk just a few steps to this door, then to the elevator. This stay was an award night; in the past we have found AAA or Senior rates from $80-$110. The rooms are similar to other full service Marriotts, medium sized, comfortable beds with the Marriott bedding, good sized desk with chair, reading chair and mini fridge. Bathrooms roomy enough to be comfortable. Interior rooms open onto a very large interior court landscaped with trees and flowers, and a pool. The hotel is not brand new, but things were in reasonably good condition and the stay was quiet and comfortable.
