The horror, one must think. In many restaurants, you'd be lucky to get a marginal salad, some fries (no doubt cooked in only the finest of organic vegetarian oils ;) ) and a piece of provoleta, cooked on the grill with the sausages and steaks.

A couple days ago, I went to http://www.naturalezasabia.com.ar/home.html . It was decent. The vegetarian in the party of 2 really liked it, and I thought it was good enough to go back. Casual, but nice, fair prices, and if you spend any time here, eventually you will be craving vegetables other than fried ones called potatoes.

It is in San Telmo, a few blocks from Plaza Dorrego.

  5. Just spent a month in Argentina with a nice stay in BA. if you don't already know about http://www.happycow.net/south_america/argentina/buenos_aires/ - check it out.
Their veggie listings have kept me fed by across the world.

As for BA, i liked: Buenos Aires Verde for dinner and the lunch buffet at Grannix.

Also of note is that some of the listings on that site are no longer valid. If you aren't already in the area, probably best to call ahead.

    Buen Provecho!

I had never seen the Happy Cow. Now I can attest that Argentina comments help Brazilians too :D

I have just reviewed the Rio de Janeiro ones. The ones I know were accurate here. Some I did not know but I will soon.:)

Thanks very much for that. The Southern Cone Vegan world thanks you.

The Neanderthal, BTW, had a predominately vegetarian diet, so we applaud your Neandertahl tastes:D
