I am booking flight to a Delta hub city. RT is over $900 but if I book a connection through this city, it'll be about $350. Anyone know if I can get away with not using the second leg, and then checking in for my return for only the second leg? Don't want to get stranded....but it's a huge price difference. Thanks for any input!

NO, if you skip a flight, the rest of your itinerary/ticket will be cancelled.

Thanks...good to know, don't want to be stranded. Bummer that they'd charge $600 more, for less of their
    service though!

Why not book two one-ways? In some cases they cost the same as a r/t. Fly the outbound one in whole and get off at the intermediate leg of the inbound.

Definitely look at one way fares. You could book one way from ORIGIN-DESTINATION-EXTRA CITY then book return from DESTINATION-ORIGIN in separate PNRs and you'll probably realize most of the savings.

You can only do this once in a while though before you run a chance of running afoul of DL's revenue patrol.

Do some research on hidden city ticketing.
