Hi, newbie here. I have 100K miles plus on both American Express and American. I'm wondering if I should my Amex miles or American miles to purchase 2 domestic tickets. Is there an advantage one way or another?
    Thanks!

Welcome to Milepoint. It depends on which airline you wish to use. Amex does not transfer to American, but they do to British Airways which can be very lucrative for short flights on American. Depending on which airline you prefer and what city you are going to will usually determine which is best. I would recommend checking award availability on the different carriers for the time and place you wish to go to.

The other option with AmEx is the pay-with-points deal where you get a penny/point valuation but also the ability to earn points on the flight. It still is generally a bad deal, but it is another option to be aware of.
