This time it's stepped up to 100% bonus as yoIu buy up to 50k miles:

The more you buy or gift, the more you'll get or give.
    Buy or gift Bonus awarded
    10,000 - 19,000 miles 50% bonus
    20,000 - 29,000 miles 75% bonus
    30,000 - 50,000 miles 100% bonus

Not clear if targeted to me or for all. My SO got it too tho.

US and Avianca offering 100% bonus - great for anyone with Star plans. Tempted with a Lifemiles LH F redemption, but where to find the time?

I just received the offer via email:

It's simple. If you need more miles to reach an award flight – buy them. And now we're making it even easier. Buy or gift miles through August 31, 2013 and you'll get up to a 100% bonus – up to 50,000 bonus miles. You'll be sitting on the beaches or dancing the night away in Rio in no time.
The more you buy or gift, the more you'll get or give.

    Buy or gift Bonus awarded
    10,000 - 19,000 miles 50% bonus
    20,000 - 29,000 miles 75% bonus
    30,000 - 50,000 miles 100% bonus

Very difficult to book *A with USAir miles now & not sure what they might be worth at the merger.

As AA miles they could be more valuable IF nothing changes that would devalue them or change the program terms. Certainly not safe for a speculative purchase, and this from someone who bought 200k the last times this was available (and just fought to redeem them on the planned *A trip we bought them for). All depends on whether OneWorld or redemption partnets of AA go where you want to redeem.

True, for Avianca, and not too sure there will be any looming devaluations on award redemption
