The US State Department Friday issued a new advisory for US employees and American citizens in Mexico asking them to remain more vigilant amidst threat of increasing violence from drug gangs, reports said.
According to the updated warning, there has been an uptick in violence in Mexico's border region as well in areas along its major drug trafficking routes. It includes parts of five additional states, including a highway, where two U.S. customs officials were gunned down by suspected drug cartels in February.
