Seriously... even on a bad day that's still worth something. :)

I just changed my password. More than 700,000 miles do have value, even when it is hard to book *A F with them.

That's horrible. Did you find out yourself or did US tell you? What else have US told you?

I was in the middle of traveling and was suddenly locked out from my account. I tried to reset my password, and it asked me real verification questions, but it kept telling me my answers were wrong.

I called up the line and they said they mailed me a letter about this and I should consult that and follow the instructions. I said I was in the middle of traveling, and they said, "Oh yeah, a Chairman."

They didn't tell me much and weren't going to fix anything for me until I consulted the letter. I emphasized I was on the road and really, really needed access. She talked to her supervisor and he finally agreed that since my cell phone has been on my account since its inception, they could call me back on that to give me access.

Everything else is in this mystery letter that I didn't have yet when I arrived home that same day, so eagerly awaiting the mailman today...

Just miles ? I had my Chase Sapphire compromised after I bought some miles. Could've been Hotels.com or Booking.com too, or coincidence I suppose.
Only places I've used the card in the last month.

I got the letter via bulk mail, and was informed the following was compromised:
    • Username
    • Password
    • Name
    • Address
    • Email
    • Security Question Answers
    • Date of Birth
    • Known Traveler Number
    • Last Four Digits of my credit cards
They gave me a free year of Lifelock and a code to call up US Airways with.

The bulk mail part was the most surprising to me, since they originally weren't going to let me access my account at all without the code off the letter.

KTN. That's interesting. I wonder if DHS will change KTN's of if that's a real hassle? Hadn't thought about the effects of that, considering someone has enough to fake an ID and book a ticket AND attempt pre-check. Doing this on another airline or not using your FF number you'd likely never know.
