    http://skift.com/2013/03/26/america...ot-a-done-deal-post-merger-says-incoming-ceo/

Doug Parker, CEO of US Airways and presumed CEO of "new AA" says: "The only reason this is an issue now is because [AA] just did it [rebranding] right in the middle [of the merger], which kind of makes it confusing. So, that gives us an opportunity, actually, to decide if we are going to do something different because we have so many airplanes to paint. But I don’t know the answer yet.”

Oh well, we may have to re-debate the whole thing once again!

Not for me, that would be real work. I just want to "design" and "redesign" the color combinations. :)

I saw the (a?) 777 with the new livery in LHR today as we were taxiing. Looked pretty nice.

Great. Not even officially CEO and he's already dicking around with things that should otherwise be ignored, especially given that this was a multi-year project that he'd be pissing the sunk cost of employee time away from...

This is NOT leadership and just confirms that Doug will be the worst thing to happen to AA since 9/11/2001.

i could remark on your first pargraph, as well, but I'll just stick with your absolutely ridiculous comparison of a livery to 9/11.

Actually he was comparing 9/11 and Doug Parker, not the livery. ;)

So, it's obvious from all of your posts that you're a big fan of US Airways and Doug Parker in particular, remind me what your reasons are? As a US elite, I think he's done a pretty good job managing a carrier with a sub optimal route/hub network and turning it into a profitable operation that delivers consistent and reliable service.

How you treat your employees directs how they treat your customers. It's clear Doug is concerned about neither.

Dougie's just whining because he didn't think of the livery. More evidence that the driving force behind this merger is Dougie's ego.:mad::mad:

Re my earlier thread about the rebranding - having heard directly from people at AA, my humble opinion is that Doug is only saying this because he wasn't a part of the rebranding, and is not yet in a position to be quoted as making decisions. As others have said this the culmination of 2 years and many dollars. I personally highly doubt the direction of what is already in progress is going to change much.

It seems that AA staff have narrowly "voted" to keep the new livery, including "flag" tail by 52% to 48%. Parker sent out a survey to the 100,000 employees of the merged carrier and pledged to accept their response favouring either the new livery or a mash-up of the new livery on the body but the previous version of the classic AA tail logo. 60,000 surveys were completed. He pledged to accept the findings of the survey. It appears that priority will now be give to repainting US aircraft over AA planes.
