While the authorities certainly have made some mistakes in the past, I am more than happy if they err on the side of caution. We do not know what information they have, and since I am trusting them to protect my security as best possible, I will not question the reason for this.

I grew up with guns, we never had a Muslim problem back then, we never had as many problems with disrespect either.

Looking at various reports and opinions on the interwebs, this may be a case of not having the proper paperwork for all of the people planning to travel. One report is that one or more of the children had the wrong passport. Whether expired or whatever. There was supposedly one of the Children that was 19 and may have had a Child's passport. One of the men had recently been to Pakistan. The Visas also included two wives that were unable to travel because of sickness or other plans. Seems like they may have run into an officious official that stated that the paperwork was not valid because, well, it was not valid for the people that were traveling. Since this occurred in the departure lounge, they may have been approved at security, but the airline, not wanting to chance the return of improperly documented people that would not be granted admission, called on the TSA to determine that the visas were not valid.

Fact is they let a lot of Muslims fly into the US, so bet they did have a good reason.
