US Bank Club Carlson E-Certificate

    In today's mail, I received two identical letters from US Bank (one for each credit card) stating that:
    Oh, wow, I'm pleasantly surprised as is this including London's May Fair, Radisson Blu Shanghai, Radisson Blu Champs Elysees, Radisson Blu Edinburgh, Oslo, or Dublin! :)

    I am surprised that no one mentioned this thus far .... anyone else received this E-Certificate?

    I paid my annual fees back in February and got the annual bonus already back then.

    Other than the annual fee, nothing!

    The postage on the envelopes say: Presorted First Class which means this was a mass mailing.

    This was poorly handled by US Bank and Club Carlson. I didn't get the certificate and didn't call to complain and get the 7500 points like many did.
    I feel like they smacked me 3 times:
    1. Take away the promised Bonus Award Nights
    2. Reward those that bother to call with 7500 points
    3. Reward "some" people with free E-certs

    I spent $6000 on the card last year and $3000 so far this year (I will admit my spend has dropped to just some automatic payments since they took away the 2nd award night)

    Pretty sure I will either drop the card or switch to a NAF version when the AF comes around.

    Got the e-cert's for all 3 of our business cards. Couldn't find a single hotel where they were valid. though I even tried a $65 one in January. I already have all my Radissons booked for the next 15 months from my point burn pre-June 1 devaluation. Have no time to book anything even if something does pop up. BTW, paying $60 for annual fee to get 40,000 points seems like a no-brainer. Will keep the cards despite all the crap US Bank/Carlson is doing.

    I phoned into US Bank Visa on ~Aug. 19 after reading about these certs on TOBB. I was told that my request would have to be referred to a supervisor in a special department. On Aug. 27 I got a phone call from Megan, saying that on viewing my account, I was eligible ;) , so she would process it & send it over to Club Carlson, who would send me an e-cert in 4--8 weeks.

    I received two different letters from two departments a week or so ago. Until yesterday the eCert was no where to be found (and the letters said I would receive email from CC). But I just checked and it's in the CC account.

    I also noticed last week that I received 5000 points with the description "Credit Card Bonus Points - Discretionary Point Addition Club Carlson Visa"

    I never asked for the night -- was just a low-priority cardholder. I decreased use dramatically because taking away the second award night was an effective 50% devaluation (did not burn points for 1-night stays pre-devaluation).
