US Airways plans to discontinue service between Phoenix and Guaymas, Mexico, this fall.
A spokesman said the flight to the Sonoran port city, known for its fishing industry, is being canceled due to poor financial performance. The last flight will be on Oct. 27.

US Airways and predecessor America West Airlines have operated the route since 1998, using commuter planes and regional jets, according to flight schedule tracker Airline Route. The Guaymas flight is currently a US Airways Express flight operated by Sky West several times a week.

US Airways is the only airline offering service between Phoenix and Guaymas.

Actually they are the only US based carrier that flies there not just between PHX and GYM.

UA has tons of routes into Mexico, but just curious, checking this one out, they don't serve that airport out of IAH.
