US Airways sues Sabre

    US Airways used Sabre pre-merger, yes. They went with SHARES and I'm surprised that's not who they sued considering that the system wouldn't even sell international partner flights at first...

    Having looked at some of the commentary and information about the suit, I remarked to some of my Aviation journalist contacts that Sabre won't be getting off lightly here.

    Cranky Flyer wrote a pretty good summary of the whole thing, and in short there are some serious anti-trust/anti-competition issues that form part of the lawsuit.

    I would agree that it can be clearly demonstrated that Sabre are abusing their market power, and the outcomes of the suit could potentially break their and other GDS monopolies at the knees - depending how good the lawyers for US Airwarys are at presenting the case, and of course just how much of a damm and how smart the judge apointed to the case is.
