Upgrade notification emails

    I have two flights on US coming up this weekend and have been upgraded on one but not the other. However I've not received upgrade notification email for either. I've routinely received these in the past. And I've not modified my online profile or email address so I don't suspect a problem with that.

    Is anyone else having problems receiving upgrade emails?

    Thanks for verifying. Sounds like an issue with my email. I just contacted the CP line and they said upgrade emails were sent... I just never received them. Guess I need to start hunting down where they went!

    On the "other forum" I feel like I've read about some folks who intermittently failed to receive the emails, but there didn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. If you don't have a tricky name or email address, or haven't updated your contact info, I'm not sure why that would happen.

    At least you are on top of it enough to check your reservation and look at your seats despite not receiving the email!

    If you're using a corporate mail account, an overzealous spam filter may have eaten it and not notified you.

    On a side note, I REALLY wish the upgrade notification email contained the seat assignment. I always end up calling just to check what my seat is. Waste of my time and the CP Desk agents time.

    I manage our enterprise spam server and have learned from experience NOT to send emails like this through it! [​IMG]

    You can do this online or from almost any PDA or phone with a web browser, or use the automated phone system (talk to a machine, not a person) to prevent tying up an agent with a mundane task.

    I've never successfully pulled up my rez on my Blackberry, but I'll have to try on my iPhone. How do you use the automated phone system when calling the CP Desk?

    Instead of pressing 2 for an Agent, press 1 for the automated system, you can check/change seat assignments as well as get flight status/delays etc.

    Will it allow you to select row 1? That would be quite handy!

    I usually pick my seat on the web with my morning cup of coffee....

    FWIW, the upgrade wizard usually puts me in Row 1 and I move myself to Row 3. I find that once I move, I can not choose a Row 1 seat again (until day of departure).

    What's your Preferred status on US? It seems that Preferred upgrade seat assignments are processed front to back. As a SP I usually got one of the last rows in F. As a CP, I'm usually assigned one of the front rows.

    My preference is row 1, so if it's auto-assigned I am happy. If not I need to call.

    I'm a Gold Member. But there doesn't seem to be too many higher ranking Preferreds on my routes...which is gooooood.

    Yes, good for you! I missed another PHX-SAN upgrade tomorrow... and that's as a CP!

    I've found the same thing. Row 1 seems to be blocked even after being upgraded, until 24 hours before the flight.
