The Continental PDA site now has a dropdown that let's you choose which airline's flight info you want to look up (UA or CO). Looks like they're even showing the UA plane registration. :D

CO.com also has a drop down too for UA status.

    Good stuff.

CO has a stronger PDA site (info wise) so hopefully this is what will be utilized going forward in the long run.

It's great to see them paving the way for offering the PDA site functionality for UA flights. The true value add will be for them to display standby and upgrade lists for UA flights -- which it does not look like they're doing yet. The "Flight Info and Status" is displayed regardless of which radio button is selected.

Does anyone know how to translate the UA Aircraft Numbers to a tail number that can be searched on FlightAware?

The last two digits of the nose number are the last two digits of the tail number. That plus the plane type will generally get it done if you consult a list of tail numbers (e.g., here: http://flyerguide.com/wiki/index.php/United_Fleet_(UA)).

A more in-depth discussion can be found here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/united-mileage-plus/605152-nose-vs-tail-number.html

    pda.continental.com

If you have a iPhone or Android there's also great free CO app available.

I did notice that the "Where is this aircraft coming from?" link is missing...what's up with that?! One of the best features of the PDA site, IMO.

Shows up for me if you start with a Flight Search. But if you do a Flight Information & Status, then the link is not showing up.

I completely agree on the iPhone CO app! It is really handy with all of the information that holds/provides especially the mobile boarding passes. The CO tech types, IMHO, did a really fantastic job with it. I look forward to the day when the app provides the same information for the entirety of the new "United".[IMG]

Sounds like the pda site will not become a victim of the merger. Smisek scores another point. [IMG]

I think this is great! I played with the pda.continental.com site and think this is an awesome step in the right direction. I even downloaded the Droid app (but haven't played with it yet). I can't wait until we get UA upgrade info!

The droid app was able to show UA seats before CO.com was able too (and even the PDA website IIRC). :)

That may be because of all the close fleeting going on. hard to make it work right.

I agree that the CO app is great for all the info it provides.

Took it for a real test drive, booked tickets, awards etc. Works pretty well but there were a couple of glitches (hopefully/probably fixed by now, some a real pain and some for the better ;) ) with the payments.
