Hilton's trying, but there are plenty of minuses to go with the plusses of the new website

    Good News:
*Easier to search for awards, can actually use the same search to look at paid & award nights
    *Auto-populate as you type destination
*Flexible date search (although still need this by rate type, such as by corporate or AAA rate).

    Bad news:
*All brands are defaulted and there's no easy way to select just one brand, you have to uncheck each other brand
*Still can't search all properties with your corporate rate
*Everytime you go back the settings reset to the default, rather than the selections you made
*At the property level, if your corporate rate isn't found it again goes back to default, rather than the selections you made.

Haven't used it enough to comment if re-login is constantly required.

The beta site gives some interesting data on day to day fluctuations in room rates. Rather than working with an average room rate for a longer stay, you can find out when the rate changes occur. If you have some flexibility you can adjust your stay quite easily to take advantage of lower rates. This screen shot can be adjusted through a drop down menu to show AAA rates, promotional rates and advanced purchase rates:

I do not like the fact that the daily rates are only displayed in weekly format. I much prefer the current site where one can search the whole month's daily rate by choosing the flexible date option, entering a date in the month, and selecting a one night stay. This results in seeing what the rate is for every day in the month.

Is there something you have to do to see the new site (different URL)? I'm not seeing the UI pictured above.

It may show up when you are searching rates and dates, and above in the left side of the browser it will write in blue "exit the beta site."

The beta site seems to kick in when you get to the rate page or if you select the option "flexible dates"
