And a united promo as well. Cents per mile isn't awesome on any of these three offers, however, if the redemption is right their is potential to do well purchasing miles for some people

Compared to MS, no. But the days of promos getting you miles at < 1 cpm are well in the past. Been two years since the last US Airways Grand Slam...

They're selling at 3.5 cents per mile plus tax, so even with a 100% bonus it's still nearly 2 cents per mile (1.88 cents per mile on purchase of 50K with 100% bonus).

Right, like I said, not like MS. But not everyone can do MS (*cough*nonUSAfolks*cough*). A business class ticket for ~$2000, or first class ticket for $2500-3000 that includes a stopover and some pretty ridiculous routing (USA-HKG-Europe-USA)is not a bad deal.

I agree, if you use it for Business Class tickets on International Flights, it's good. For buying and then using domestic, in general, not good. In an emergency with little notice and the domestic is incredibly expensive, not so bad. Just bought and used some for a Business Class to Spain, retail was $3300 from US, buying points and spending it was 60% of that. Good for me in this case.

Yes it seems there was some miscommunication as points.com sent some emails saying last day after US Airways had updated the webpage for miles purchase to say bonus was available until October 12.
