I've been patiently waiting for my miles to properly post from a trip in mid-March as United system randomly continued to give out miles over the past few weeks. I am not sure if it's done yet, but I am sure as heck confused.

As a newly minted Premier Gold and first time Y-fare (may be) and JN-fare (is that J?) flyer, I am not quite familiar with the intricacies of mileage award, so may be I am just missing something. The end result (for now) of the flights is 21,106 Award Miles and 22,107 PQM. So my net increase in miles on the account was 21,106, which to me feels backwards, but I might just be confused about PQMs.

You can see my flights below and here are just a couple of the points of confusion:

    1. All Lufthansa flights earned 40% Award Miles bonus and 20% PQM bonus. Is there some sort of modifier for flying Lufthansa?
    2. SAS flights got no Award Miles bonus, but 50% PQM bonus. SAS/Swiss and SAS/United flight got 50% on both.
    3. United flight got 50% bonus in both categories.
    4. Yet, there is 50% bonus on all the PQS

Does that all look right or am I missing (or gaining) some miles here? Thanks for the help!

Just re-checked the mileage earning matrix for SAS, Swiss and Lufthansa and it still makes no sense...

SAS: I should not have gotten PQMs or PQS bonus

Lufthansa: Should be 50% PQM bonus and 25% award miles bonus

    Swiss and United: Simply confused:

The first one looks right: it's 304 actual miles (gcmap). You got a 500-mile minimum + 25% RDM and 50% PQM bonus. I think that covers the cases where you got the 500-min miles.

The SAS/Swiss, looks like it was Swiss metal, so you got credited for Swiss's bonus. Edit: you should have gotten 25% instead of 50% for the RDMs.

Actual air miles from FRA-DEN are 5039 (gcmap), so it looks like the PQMs are correct.

DEN-PHX, it's 602 (gcmap) miles. You got a 50% bonus, total the two numbers together and it matches the PQM column.

Okay, understood. I was misinterpreting United's own calculator, which, by the way, had some of the distances adjusted in the past few days. I couldn't get it to reproduce the results last Friday, so that helped that confusion. Thanks!

I didn't go through every line, but you may want to check the actual flight mileage on the ones you're confused about.
