LOL So is this good news, or a mixed bag of news? Newark and Buenos Aires, Argentina looks like a fun one

Seems to vary based on where you are based and where you like to fly.

New routes = good news. Route cancellation = bad news. IMHO.

That sucks. So much for my patagonia plans [albeit distant plans]. WAS-EWR is horrible and CO cancels and/or is delayed all the time.

That's too bad. I was in Patagonia last April but I was in the Chilean part. Absolutely amazing place!

Agreed! Definitely nice to have this option to use my CO miles for. I've been wanting to go to Argentina for a while now to have a nice steak & visit Iguazu Falls.

Well, if you don't live in NYC or New Jersey, I wouldn't call it good news. Newark must be the worst place on the planet to connect.

Good news about Manchester and Dublin, curious what equipment they will use

I can't imagine it would be anything other than a PMCO 752, but I don't know anything for sure.

They've more than likely (pretty much guaranteed) done some market research and decided that the NY area will be a more profitable market to EZE.

There are still other connecting options, too.

    CO 752.

And needless to say the EWR-EZE will be a United 767-300.

And the Los Angeles to Durango, Mexico on an ERJ-145 - eek!

I dont see how this will change anything that has been there till now? Till now it was UA from IAD and CO from IAH, since EWR-EZE wont be added as a 3rd flight, everything stays the same as it was only differnce is the airport it will be flying from.

Same with DUB if CO ex's 1 of its 2 flights from EWR and moves it to IAD no net gain seat wise either.

The only factor maybe that a person wont need to connect any longer or will now have to connect, so unless a larger plane will be used or they up the # of flights to XYZ, it really doesnt have that much of an affect on me, since it wont be any more seats being put into the hat

Gotcha... I never really checked into award availabiltiy on CO/ UA so to me this sounded like good news since Argentina is a place I'd like to go. I have checked AA awards in the past which were either very high or not available...

Availability wasn't great for the IAD-EZE flight. Doubt it will be any better now that it has moved up to fly out of EWR.

You can also get there from the .br side via gru. MrsLincoln and I had a very enjoyable time at the Brazil-side Hotel des Cataratas a few years ago. We flew Varig... But today it'd be Gol, eh.

I have not been to Iguacu, but isn't the Brazilian side supposed to afford the best views anyhow? (kinda like the Canadian side on Niagara) It sucks that you would have to pay for two visas if you wanted to do both (Brazil, and Argentina arrival fee)
