United Airlines Begins Flying The First Of Its Reconfigured 767-300 Aircraft

    Per the press release, the re-configured 767-300 was supposed to operate ORD-AMS yesterday. But apparently the inaugural flight didn't go so well.

    mobile.united.com showed an extra ORD-ORD segment for UA 908 (N674UA). UA 908 ultimately took a 4 hour delay and departed to Amsterdam on N653UA. N674UA is now "resting" in Chicago till tomorrow (at least).

    Glad to see the ghetto birds getting the retrofit. I wonder how many will be done and when the work will be completed.

    They will be converting all 14 and expect them to be completed by January 2013. That said, the first one has had some issues and went MX a couple times in its first few days of scheduled service. Hopefully they get those kinks worked out soon enough.
