Unintended consequences of AE linking awards travel availability with a desert landscape image?

    Was in domestic departures area of YYZ T1 earlier this week and noted the very long ad along the moving side walk in the D-30's bank: proud expanse of desert sands and the prominent AE brand. Not sure if this was the effect they were looking for but reinforced perceptions re award availability (like trying to find a particular grain of sand in the large lonely desert) with my travelling party...
