Media are reporting from Detroit that the underwear bomber has been sentenced to life in jail
Thanks for sharing.
Yes, thanks for sharing, MSPeconomist and DTWBOB.
I know other prisoners generally do not like rapists and others...not sure they'll be very nice to a wannabe terrorist either.
Dare I say that he is lucky he did not get the hot seat!
What a putrid thought that he lives & we, the taxpayer, will now feed and house him. I'd rather he be sent back to hole he came from as the failure he was. He should have received Instant Justice, i.e. death, at the time of his crime and his lifeless body dumped onto the tarmac. The lack of an all-out scuffle may have saved him. Hopefully, such incidents will not happen again on another US airliner, but if one does, I hope the perpetrator(s) expire suddenly by the hands of First Responders, be they passengers or crew.
He wasn't eligible for capital punishment. Life was the worst sentence they could give.
Actually, he's from a very well to do family and then came to Detroit for the sentencing, only he wouldn't have anything to do with them.
Given our legal system's appeals process, it's actually cheaper to incarcerate someone for life than to execute them.
