Ultra Efficient Airplanes?

    Although bit of an art project, this photo shows the difference in drag between a blended-wing aircraft and the typical tube-and-wing design. The former is said to have about 50% greater fuel economy, but may have issues with major consumer features such as windows. With even 10% better efficiency, the industry would save about $7 billion. Would you sacrifice your window for passed on savings?

    I think I just want to ride in an aircraft that looks like that...

    yes ... plus LED in place of windows with video cameras showing the outside will provide the same exp but at a lower cost

    Right... and if I want to imagine I'm flying through space like a kid I can switch the station on the "windows" and make it happen. Blam! :D
