United E-Certs Now Valid on Continental Flights!

Hats off to Matthew at @upgrd UAL e-Certs are now bookable on UAL.com for Continental metal flights. I often find the Continental flights cheaper and they were not bookable with the certificates, but as of today they can be booked.

For me this is good news as I am sitting on about 10 of them.

Cool! With this and the MP-OP miles transfer/linkage thingy, that's two changes that I actually do like in one week. Weird[IMG]

There are also reports of this working not only with dollar off e-certs for CO domestic but also for %-off systemwide e-certs being used on *A partners such as LH

Nice. I was able to get LH flights discounted, but glad to see CO flights can also be applied using $ and % (tested with a couple of certs I had).

Does anyone know if UA-purchased CO-operated flights also get the CO-offered a chance to buy Extra RDM/EQM at check-in?

Co vouchers are no good here. Only UA vouchers can now also discount CO operated flights

Does web-support "help" work as well?

This is good news. I have a few of them that had become very difficult to use from IAH due to the lack of UA metal flights. Now great news would be when CO accepts UA bump TCVs.

Online, this only works with CO-operated flights that have a UA-codeshare flight number and not every CO flight does, by a long shot.

However, I called web support and not only did they manually apply the vouchers ("as a one-time courtesy because you are a valued Premier member") but they also stuck my companion and I on the same PNR, a very pleasant first for me! The baggage savings are terrific since we're connecting to international flights, as she has no status.

I was trying to use an e-cert the other day and they only seemed to be valid on **certain** continental operated flights. Are others seeing that too? Is their some kind of a logic to it? Certain fare classes only?

I was told by websupport that vouchers are valid only on CO flights that are also codeshare with UA. No idea if they know what they are talking about.
