I always like when the Union boss gets to remind the members to follow the rules. Makes me wonder how serious that is or if it is accompanied with a wink and a nod.

I'd like to think this isn't how it is happening. I'd like to think that both sides play by the rules all the time. Sadly, I know that isn't the case. I just wonder how much of a stretch each side is exercising these days.

From another forum for airline crews, it's the sUA folks that's stirring stuff up in regards to sick-outs.

I'm not entirely sure it matters at this point. They all are subject to the rules and the net effect on us as customers is the same in the end.

Agreed the end result is the same however what I saw was that the sUA side is encouraging this kind of behavior whereas the sCO side stated they did not support such actions.

Well, not "officially" at least. ;)

    (kidding)

I agree though, the end result is bad for both the company and its customers.

Yes because if the union wants public support, randomly canceling flights is the way to go. [IMG]

Right, because the sCO side had already voted with their display of ExCon accessories and refusing to mention the word United in their announcements ;)

Childish and silly, but doesn't affect the customers. That makes a difference to me. Because I am a customer. :-:

Are you suggesting that I'm not a good customer?

More to the point, are you suggesting that not caring which half of the pilots are possibly violating the terms of the RLA somehow is based on how much money I spend with the company in any given year?

Actually, in the cases I've experienced it, the service has been pretty consistent. Just the silly, childish announcements to go with it.
Well, when you're going to be a schmuck it pays to get the spelling right.
Jealous? Or just confused as to how it happened? Dozens of others got it the exact same way.

I wasn't aware the union has the ability to cancel flights. [IMG]

In other news, exactly what is
? At least in regards to something COdbaUA claims is happening.

If the union calls for a sick out, then the flights don't have pilots, if the flight doesn't have a pilot then the flight is canceled. What do you think happens when the pilots strike, the planes fly by themselves?

    Keep it classy Seth.

You don't have to start name calling if you don't agree with someone.

And I'm sure you are perfect in your postings and have never misspelled a word

    None of the above.

Not sure how "dozens of others got it the exact same way" has anything to do with it.

I'm not the one who got snarky here and started making strange intimations about others.

Then what is it about? Just an unjustified dig at me?

There is no evidence that the union called for a sickout. Secondly if the absence of a handful of pilots is in actuality causing so many cancellations* why can't this just as likely be blamed on not having the proper amount of backup pilots?

Finally, and this is not necessarily directed at you colpuck, but I find it interesting how labor is constantly derided but management, even when poor decisions are made, 'have their reasons'.

*Just because the management team claims something doesn't mean it's actually happening. One only needs to look for 'changes we'll like' to know how little trust should be given to lip service like this.
