    Hi all,

I'll be near a UA lounge (SFO Intl terminal), and I have a spare lounge pass (from a credit card). The problem is that I won't have a UA boarding pass. Can I get into the lounge?

just in case it somehow matters, I will be flying Swiss using a ticket issued by LH. I have no status of any kind. Just the lounge pass :)

    thanks!

There should be no problem. We use it all the time in Las Vegas when flying on Hawaiian.

The website does not show any requirement for a one-time pass other than the pass be valid.
You are flying on Swiss which is a Star Alliance carrier and the issuer (LH) is also a carrier. I would not expect you to have trouble with entry for yourself only.
That said, I am a lifetime member and I have had the random agent demand a UA BP.

You shouldn't have any trouble if you have a boarding pass showing that you are actually in transit. I believe that any boarding pass would do but having a *A BP decreases the chances of rejection.

The reason you should be allowed is that same-day lounge passes can be purchased by anyone and lounge passes can be gifted to someone traveling with any airline...I think.

LOL - Three independent views [I had not seen the first two as I was composing my response when they were posted], all saying the same thing. I like your chances. ;)

I'll tell you what, give the thing to me. If I can get in, I'm open to inviting you in as my guest. ;)
