Is there another thread about this, or why is no one talking about this?

Time to plan a visit to Houston.

Well, technically I can book IAH-AMS for December 4+ today. It just shows it operating by a 764 for the moment.

And a couple hours ago it had two BF award seats available. Those are gone now but it is showing X9 and R4 last I looked.

If only I had time, but middle of the week just isn't going to work for me for a random trip to Europe.

I'll see if I can get on one of the domestic legs.

I am sure that soon I will have a good reason to attend any meeting in PVG, doing JFK-LAX-PVG, any time after 30MAR13 :D .

I'd love to see some of those 35 cancelled QF 789's find their way wearing a UA livery.

Perhaps Qantas should have offered them on eBay.

Any idea on specific flight numbers on those days? They don't seem to be loaded yet.

I read on FT that will be loaded Friday night (and I do trust the source of that post).
I'm really hoping UA1695 EWR-IAH on Dec 22 is one of the lucky swaps. This would be a great x-mas present for me(already UG'ed on the scheduled 767-400ER):)

Bummer, I missed the flight they swapped the 787 for by 1.5 hours :(
Oh well, just wanted to let everyone know they just loaded the domestic 787 schedule now. Good luck!

Candidly, I wouldn't recommend that folks go *too* far out of their way to get on one of the 787 domestic flights -- the flights will get equipment subbed or cancelled at the drop of a hat if any teething troubles or delivery delays arise (both have occurred in the earliest phases of the various 787 fleet introductions thus far).

Seems like UA loaded some especially high fares for the initial 787 flights. While the flights show 9's in most fare categories, united.com only gives an E fare, which prices higher than the M fare on other flights. I assume UA is doing this either via fare rules or restrictions.

I booked a one way award fare HPN-ORD-IAH-LGA (ORD-IAH is the 787) and if it gets switched I will just pay the 150$ fee to cancel it .

It took awhile for UA to push all of the flights into the GDS I booked mine this morning.

You have 24 hours to cancel the award tickets in case you needed to right now ;).

In any case I am booked on the first planned SFO-IAH flight on November 5th and will be upgrading into First Class since it's a redeye flight (lie flat) will be nice.
