Did Chase/United remove the promised benefit that UA Club VISA are eligible for CPUs on award tickets?

Not that it ever worked for me, but I just checked in a for a flight for tomorrow and checked the upgrade waitlist, and I wasn't on it. So I dug out the old email from 1KVoice when I complained about this not working last year, and they replied

I understand your frustration. This difficulty has been reported and we
are aware of the system error in recognizing the Chase cards providing
this benefit. A fix is in process to remedy this error.

As a short-term solution, a manual work around by our airport staff upon
notification by the passenger. I recognize is not the best solution, but
the fix is scheduled to be loaded before the end of January.
    [edit: that was Jan 2013!]

As a 1K member of MileagePlus we hope for your understanding.

I was about to send another message and decided to include a link to the Chase website that lists the benefit... https://creditcards.chase.com/credit-cards/united-club-credit-card.aspx ... and I don't see that benefit listed anymore.

Did they give up on making this work and silently drop it?

It worked for me over Christmas, so YMMV.

I booked an award ticket for my daughter to come down and visit me next month. She has no status and no Chase card, but her reservation shows that she is available for complimentary upgrade on all flights. That, of course, does not necessarily mean that she'll actually end up on the list if she doesn't clear beforehand. I haven't mentioned it to her so she won't be disappointed or irritable if she isn't on the list.

I have two award trips booked, both used the chase club card to pay fees.
1 is missing the CPU eligible note, the other has the CPU eligible note... :(

I have a bit of experience here as both Mrs. Flyer and I have a card, miles and 1K status:

I have never had to actually use the card to pay the fees to get this benefit.
It is sketchy compliance, I agree. I am running about an 80% success rate on getting in the queue when using reward miles.
Note that the member wanting the upgrade must use miles from their personal account.
There is no companion benefit. So, if you want to get upgraded and are bringing along a buddy on your miles, they are SOL and you must be on a separate PNR from them.

    So sayeth me!
