When I saw the title of this post, I thought it was saying that United was bailing on copying all of Delta's FF program moves, not that they were leaving Love Field. :D

IOW: Love = no love? Wow, I need another cocktail to ponder that.

Seems like it would be cheaper for Southwest just to buy Love Field and operate it as a private or corporate enterprise :)

WN would love that, especially if they got to have it exclusively or allocate gate times

VX might, just might, have an issue with that. Pretty sure the Feds would take issue too. :D

Save for the 2 gates VX operates that's essentially what DAL is now.

I do wonder what will happen to DL given that it has a 180-day mini-lease from UA for space to operate its 5x daily ATL flights.
I would have thought that the Feds would care enough to not have only two carriers at the airport (and one with 90%+ of the traffic). But apparently such concerns only apply in DC and NYC.

Given the outsourcing trends in the airline industry, why would they want to own and operate the airport? (admittedly WN doesn't have outsourced flying; do they outsource ground staff?)

I'm surprised they got the feds antitrust folks to OK this.
